BINT JBEIL, Lebanon (AP) — An Israeli airstrike in south Lebanon on Sunday evening killed four civilians, including a woman and three children, raising the likelihood of a dangerous new escalation in the conflict on the Lebanon-Israel border. One woman and three girls, ages 10, 12 and 14 were killed, and others were wounded, it said. Shortly after the Israeli strike, Hezbollah said its fighters had fired Grad rockets from southern Lebanon into Israel in response. Local media reported that the rockets landed in the Israeli border towns of Metula and Kiryat Shmona. Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee tweeted that one Israeli was also killed Sunday in a strike launched by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

CNN —Cameroonian Football Federation president Samuel Eto’o apologized for what he called a “violent altercation” with an individual he identified as “probably an Algerian supporter” on Twitter Tuesday. Several people attempt to restrain Eto’o, but Eto’o got free and appeared to kick at the person with the camera, who then fell to the ground. The Algerian Football Federation appealed to FIFA to replay the second leg of the qualifier due to accused questionable officiating, but FIFA dismissed Algeria’s request. “I pledge to continue to resist the relentless provocation and daily harassment of some Algerian supporters. DOHA, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Samuel Eto'o, the former Cameroon striker and current president of the country's football federation, has apologised after a "violent altercation" with a fan as he left a World Cup match on Monday. "After the Brazil-South Korea match, I had a violent altercation with a person who was probably an Algerian supporter," Eto'o said in a statement on Twitter. "During this World Cup, Cameroonian fans have been harassed and pestered by Algerians on the same subject. Eto'o noted that all the appeals by the Algerian Football Federation over the result of the qualifier had been rejected. Cameroon exited the World Cup at the group stage despite beating Brazil 1-0 in their final match.
